So, I was all jazzed for the food festival in UB city, which promised food, music, food, events and more food. Naturally, the question of ”What should I wear” came up. Obviously, I had to be dressed, because it was UB city and one never dresses down to UB city. All Bangaloreans know that you can expect the most happening crowd there.
I wasn’t comfortable to wear a dress because I had another place (a less classier, more crowded one, mind you) to go to.
Hence, I decided to wear a Maxi. Maxi dresses are trending these days and I have made it a point to own a few of them.
Here’s my look:
I wanted something a little dramatic and prominent to go with the look. I opted for dark black liquid eyeliner. I applied it broadly with two coats and a slight winged tip. Since my eyes were lined well enough, I did not opt for mascara.
For my skin, I applied a light layer of sun screen because it was an outdoor event. On that, I chose my favorite MAC Studio Fix, which works wonderfully as a compact and light foundation. To complete my look, I put on a bright red lipstick from Colorbar.
Red lips and thick liner= My favorite combination!
My maxi was off-white on top and had a pretty black and brown print towards the bottom. It even had a tying at the back. The lining inside was short, with a long exterior. The colors and the print gave it the perfect balance between day wear and evening wear.
With this, I wore a long gold-colored chain with square shaped black beads. The chain helped to add a little bit of charm to the plain off-white fabric. Also, since I am on the shorter side, I wore gold wedge heels to accommodate the length of my dress and topped it off with a black sling bag and a gorgeous white and gold watch from Dior.
Where its from:
Lipstick– Colorbar ( Hot, Hot, Hot )
Compact– MAC Studio Fix
Maxi Dress- Goa
Chain- Hong Kong
Wedge Heels- Soles
Sling bag– Accessorize
– If you wish to look dressy and avoid pants altogether but cannot afford to/don’t want to wear short dresses, you can opt for maxi’s and long skirts
– When wearing clothes without prints, it’s important to accessorize it, even if it’s just one single piece of statement jewelry
– If you aren’t too tall, make sure you wear heels for clothes that are long. Without heels, the dress wont sit well on you and you may even trip.
P.S: The best accessory is a smile 🙂
