PREMIUM TEA ONLINE:
A review of Techa tea
As Indians, the concept of drinking tea (or chai, as we fondly refer to it) is inborn. We all can remember our grandparents sipping on tea in those wee morning hours with a newspaper by their side. We have seen our mothers relaxing with a chai in hand after winding up work.
Even now, tea is sold everywhere, from swanky 5-star hotels to bespoke boutiques to quirky cafes to road side stalls. And the reason is simple: Tea is soothing, relaxing and loaded with goodness.
I prefer my chai without milk and hence, green teas, black teas and the like are my favourites. So when I was on the lookout for premium tea online, I got to know about techa’s exclusive teas and I knew I had to try it. I decided to sample one of their black teas: Darjeeling Golden Tips Black Tea.
Read on to know my thoughts:
Classy. With a wonderfully designed black box and an inner golden lid, with a little card that talks about the tea, the packaging is anti-spillage. It’s so nice, you can keep it as a collectible!
The first thing I noticed was the fragrance. It’s strong, flavourful and hits your nostril with its pleasantness. I took a minute to just inhale in that scent before giving it a try. It stews and boils pretty quickly, with the leaves blending with the water very well. You can even have it as an ice tea, if that’s how you prefer it. Also, it would be the perfect drink for those sultry Indian summers, don’t you think?
Coming to the taste, it’s extremely satisfying. It’s strong, but not overwhelmingly so. The flavour is very smooth and refreshing. Without doubt one of the best black teas I have tried.
Black tea is loaded with goodness and anti-oxidants. It helps decrease the risk of diabetes and heart diseases. It also helps cure digestive problems. In fact, my stomach felt much lighter after sipping on this. Since I have IBS, this really aids in making my tummy feel better.
It ranges from Rs. 499 to Rs. 1,149 with four main variants (Black Tea, Green Tea, White Tea and Oolong Tea). They have a lot of flavours to choose from.
Since I try to avoid coffee as much as I can, tea is a blessing for me. Whether it’s to feel light or just to warm myself up as it rains outside, I can always count on this beautiful brew.
